Hij leerde dat zitten in de lotushouding tegelijkertijd oefening en realisatie is.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Door de eeuwen heen is deze praktijk doorgegeven van meester op leerling. Het zenboeddhisme werd naar China gebracht door de Indiase monnik Bodhidharma (6e eeuw na Christus). Zen werd vanuit China in Japan ge\u00efntroduceerd door de monnik Eisai en een paar jaar later door de stichter van de Soto-school, meester Dogen (13e eeuw na Christus).<\/p>\n<p>Het Japanse woord \"Zen\" is afgeleid van het Chinese woord \"Ch'an\", dat zelf is afgeleid van het Sanskrietwoord \"Dhyana\", dat meditatie of concentratie betekent. Deze afbeelding toont een deel van een document genaamd a <em>Ketsumyaku<\/em>, a certificate of affiliation to the lineage of the great masters and Buddhas of the past up to the present day of our teacher Master Kosen, who received transmission from Deshimaru who in turn received his transmission from Kodo Sawaki in Japan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-4345\" src=\"https:\/\/zendojoamsterdam.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/pipette.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"284\" height=\"297\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 100px 0px;\"><strong>The monk Kosen,<\/strong> <em>(born 1950)<\/em>, is from the lineage of the great iconoclastic masters, free from any yoke, liberated from every dogma and always disconcerting.\u00a0Kosen, Stephane Thibaut started his eventful life in 1950, in Paris. After many experiences in the agitation of the world, he comes across the practice of the transmitted zen, with the man who was introducing it to the Western World, the &#8220;Boddhidharma of modern times&#8221;: Master Taisen Deshimaru.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-4333 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/zendojoamsterdam.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/deshimaru_boddhidharma-300x223.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"284\" height=\"211\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 100px 0px;\"><strong>Master Deshimaru<\/strong>, <em>(1914 &#8211; 1982).<\/em><br \/>\nFollowing the instructions of his teacher Kodo Sawaki, arrived in Paris in 1967,\u00a0invited by a group of French macrobiotics. There, he committed himself totally to the teaching of zazen and of the Zen tradition.Since then, until his death from cancer in 1984, he taught Zen to numerous disciples, the oldest of which is Kosen Thibaut. He founded a zentempel, the Gendronni\u00e8re and many other dojos throughout France and Europe. Blessed with extraordinary energy, Taisen Deshimaru Roshi was animated by an unwavering faith in zazen practice, in the pure teachings of the buddhas and patriarchs, and in the importance of this practice and teaching for the present day.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-4337\" src=\"https:\/\/zendojoamsterdam.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/kodoS.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"284\" height=\"341\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Master Kodo Sawaki<\/strong>, <em>(1880- 1965)<\/em>, did not teach in monasteries but in the heart of society and made zen accessible for everyone.<br \/>\nZe noemden hem 'dakloze Kodo' omdat hij weigerde in een tempel te blijven en altijd alleen reisde. Hij bracht een frisse wind met zich mee naar de stervende zen en herintroduceerde de universele beoefening van zazen. Na de oorlog werd hij een beroemdheid in Japan en organiseerde hij sesshins en zomerkampen in verschillende tempels. Hij onderwees zowel leken als monniken, gaf conferenties op universiteiten en in gevangenissen en nam deel aan de oprichting van talrijke dojo's. Gedurende al die tijd volgde meester Deshimaru hem overal en Kodo Sawaki leerde hem de essentie van het boeddhisme. In 1963, op 86-jarige leeftijd, werd hij ernstig ziek en trok hij zich terug in Antai-ji (de tempel die hij had omgevormd tot een plaats van pure beoefening). Vanuit zijn bed keek hij lange tijd naar de berg Takagamine.<\/p>\n<p>In Amsterdam zetten we deze ononderbroken dagelijkse beoefening voort in Zen Dojo Amsterdam \u2013 \u2018Gyo Kai\u2019.
